In the year 2000 music players were rather chunky and in effect not-so-sleek until Steve Jobs changed the whole music experience to listening to what we call today as iPods. Its hold switch was designed differently this time but apart from its compatibility with both Mac and Windows and its increased capacity to store music –it was very much the same as the first generation one.

By 2003, Apple came out with the 40GB iPod third generation. Its battery life is a lot lower though compared to the ones released in 2001 and 2002 but obviously stores more songs. That one feature is what makes this particular iPod quite amazing.

A year later, Apple Inc released the iPod Photo, the iPod fourth generation and the iPod mini first generation –expanding the iPod collection. By 2005, Apple came out with the iPod fifth generation and the very first nano and shuffle –and the rest of course (as they say) is history.

The history of the iPhone began when Steve Jobs became CEO for Apple Inc. It was under Steve Jobs’ direction that the engineers of the company started investigating touch screens and its mechanisms. At the time, the company was considering making tablet PCs which later on became the infamous iPad we have today. Before the iPad was born however there came the iPhone, but before that Apple had to develop a synchronization mechanism first to make everything digitalized i.e. when it synchronization when it comes to music, communication, and other software that we use on a daily basis. You can store music in your SkyDrive too but it is unclear whether you can play them while on SkyDrive. This gives a minus point to the said ecosystem but you should still take a look at it whether it will do playbacks.

For backups, SkyDrive is good but you would have to take a look at the settings so as not to share everything in your drive. iCloud on the other hand makes it easy for you to back up files from all your Apple stuff.
