The patience of Apple fans is waning, reports say but there is still quite a dedicated community of consumers that are filing in Apple stores just to get their hands on the iPhone 4S. Apple is happy about this of course but the sad news is that the popularity of the iPhone 4S may be the very reason why the release date of the highly anticipated iPhone 5 will be delayed.

Tech blogs report that the demand of the Siri-toting new iPhone is still at its peak and will definitely prolong the release of the iPhone 5. The stopgap solution i.e. the iPhone 4S even though quite popular around the world is still being bombarded by critics particularly its battery issues. Complaints about the new iPhone have reached its peak too –much like the cues in Apple stores. There is some good news regarding the battery issue though because Apple just released a fix on Thursday last week so that iPhone 4S users will no longer complain about their batteries not lasting through an entire day. The update can now be downloaded from iTunes or through the internet.

Consumers have not yet lost hope for the iPhone series though but if Apple keeps on delaying the release of the iPhone 5 analysts say, consumers might not take it lightly and just switch to iPhone’s beefier competitors. According to the rumor mill, there are many frustrated calls being made to the Apple headquarters regarding the release date of the iPhone 5 but one cannot blame the technology giant because as long as there is a high demand for their newly launched iPhone, they will keep on delaying the arrival of the iPhone 5 even if it is ready for action. After all, Apple has nothing to gain if they release it soon.

Apple fans are jumping ship because of the battery problems of the iPhone 4S and its striking similarity to the standard Apple iPhone 4. Although this similarity was expected, many fans are still very disappointed, reports say.

With the news of an iPad 2S functioning as a stopgap for the iPad 3, many are now thinking that this might be the end of the gadgets giant especially now that the competition are releasing beefier gadgets. However, everything is much better with an Apple, so they say so it is basically consumers who will be holding the cards. Will Apple remain no.1 in the heart of consumers? A lot of rumor mongering is going on but to be fair, no one is sure what will happen next. It will depend solely on how Apple will play the game. Former Apple fans are now thinking of buying an Android instead of getting another Apple iPhone though. It was widely circulated that buyers of the 4S jumped ship from competitors BlackBerry and the Androids but analysts say that there might be a turn around in the very near future since the new smartphones from Samsung are making waves.

With the newly released S2 Skyrocket following the Nexus, some are thinking that these phones might do better performance-wise as compared to any Apple iPhone. One thing is certain though, the batteries of these smartphones last longer than that of the 4S. Rumors say that Apple will be releasing the iPhone 5 soon but this will depend on the frenzy going on with the 4S because as long as many people are still salivating for the said  smartphone, Apple will have no reason to hasten production for the iPhone 5 –the gadget that they promised their users months ago.

This may be a nightmare for many an iPhone 4S users but it’s true, the battery seems to have a problem. This apparent glitch does not affect everyone of course but it is prevalent enough to irk quite a few users.

The issue has been getting enough media attention these past few days that many iPhone 4S users are alarmed. The poor battery life issue of the newly released iPhone may be its Achilles’ heel, reports say.

At Apple’s support forums, a lot of iPhone 4S users started discussing battery problems a day after the release of the new Apple gadget. To date, there are now over 185 pages of comments regarding the issue making it rather problematic for the technology giant.

“I am disappointed, this will probably be my last iPhone.”, says one user who pre-ordered the new iPhone. Contrary to the official specs of the phone which should have enough juice for 8 hours, the iPhone 4S only lasts 4 hours or even less.

Experts believe however that the problem may not be the battery itself but with the new operating system from Apple since it has a lot of apps on, it basically consumes a lot of juice.

The figurehead of Apple and one of the most influential men in the technology market Steve Jobs died this October due to a rare kind of pancreatic cancer.

Jobs passed away just hours after the unveiling of Apple’s latest smartphone –the iPhone 4S. Following Steve Jobs’ resignation as CEO, Apple had ample time to get a glimpse of what lies ahead. One has to note that expectations for the launch of the iPhone 5 was rather high but the company experienced a bit of negative feedback when it unveiled an upgrade –the iPhone 4S.

The dismay for being served a smartphone that was barely different from its predecessor the Apple iPhone 4 has caused quite a drawback but no one doubts the giant because sales are still looking good.

The danger with Apple’s strategy of replacing its handsets with yet another new one, according to experts, is that their former loyal customers might be distracted by other handsets released by competitors which include Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus released as the Ice Cream Sandwich phone.

Apple Stumbles

Upon Jobs’ death, investors started shying away from the technology giant. The reluctance of Tim Cook to step into Steve Jobs’ shoes somewhat added to the tumble. In fact, according to the BBC, the share price for Apple has tumbled 5% making the absence of Jobs felt oh-so-abruptly.

It is interesting to note that when Jobs announced his leave of absence because of his sickness, a number of investors pulled their investments from the technology giant.

Many investors have voiced their fears that without Steve Jobs, the company will spiral to the dumps while its competitors are speeding up when it comes to releasing the sleekest gadgets one can find.

However, telecom analyst Nitin Bhat said in an interview with the BBC that the impact will not be that much and that this will only be in the short term since Apple has a plan in place.

Although a lot of Apple fans were not happy that they are not getting the iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S is still getting a lot of attention not only in the west but also in Asia.

Released in 7 countries last Friday, the iPhone 4S is still not officially for sale in China. Hong Kong residents however are already itching to get their hands on the newest Apple gadgets. Thanks to dealers who have imported the phones from Japan and Australia, HK residents can now have their very own iPhone 4S.

According to reports, the smartphone is retailed at $1, 300 to $1, 500 in the grey market –giving the resellers a huge profit.

Interviewed by MSN news, dealer Ma Hui said that about 100 iPhone 4S were sold by his shop in Mongkok on the first day.

What is interesting is that several customers bought more than one iPhone so that they can resell the smartphones to other Apple fans. Although the demand for the newest iPhone is still high, it is not as crazy as it was with the iPhone 4.The iPhone 4 will be released in 22 countries by the end of October 2011. Meanwhile back at the Apple headquarters, the company reported that there has been an 85% rise in its sales with a net profit of $25.9 billion as of September 24^th, 2011. It however missed the forecast done by Wall Street. The miss is just a billion dollars though according to reports.

As of late, the technology company Apple opted to defer new carriers for their handsets. Apple’s post-Jobs era has started and despite the sadness, Apple is thrilled for the release of the iPhone 4S in other countries. The figures are not as pretty as it was before but Apple will definitely make do with what they have.

The main question is, what makes this operating system different from the first few? The technology giant has revamped the graphics in the iOS 5 including the camera. This is a wonderful development especially for people who love storing their photos in their Apple gadgets.  Another plus is that you can now organize all of your photos on your Apple device and even get to edit them right there.

A month or so ago, the rumor mill said that there will be significant changes on the iPod Touch and that it will be white.

The multimedia gadget launched in 2007 usually gets an upgrade every September but the changes made to it in the past few years barely shocks consumers.

In fact, Digital Trends said last September that the device can be likened to George Harrison i.e. the quiet, non-attention seeking type. Digital Trends did not really use the word non-attention seeking though but you get the meaning. The iPod Touch usually takes a backseat while the iPhone and the iPad get all the media attention –the way John and Paul were given all the attention during their heyday.

The iPod Touch’s minor change is not that exciting though –it will just don a white frame at some point. We do not know however if this pushed through or whether it will in the future.

Now to the iPhone. To those who haven’t heard the news, there’s a new iPhone but it’s not the iPhone 5.

Alright, there are many who were disappointed and are still very disappointed that there is no iPhone 5 and that an iPhone 4S stood in as a replacement. Although a lot of people are dismayed by this development (or underdevelopment), people from different parts of the US still pre-ordered the iPhone 4S.  These orders have showed up in tracking bases of UPS though and those who pre-ordered are expected to get their iPhone 4S before the launch date (October 14, 2011)

Apple however will likely to hold delivery until the product launching which means bad news to those who are already oh-so-excited to see, touch, and maybe even smell their brand new iPhone 4S.

The 56 year old inventor and entrepreneur Steve Jobs died on Wednesday due to a rare kind of pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed in 2004, Jobs continued on with his work in the company he co-founded.

The former CEO of the technology giant battled the disease for 7 years. He was surrounded by family upon his passing on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.

US President Obama said, the world “lost a visionary” and indeed it did because Jobs is definitely one of the greatest American innovators in modern times.

It is not surprising that Jobs’ death caused a lot of sadness in all corners of the globe. Although this is a post-Diana era and hero-worship can be a little over the top, the mourning is justifiable because the world just lost someone who was bold enough to make an idea into reality.

The innovations of Steve Jobs may be considered as “useless” to some but to many, these gadgets have changed lives especially when it comes to storage and downloading information right on the palm of one’s hands.

Days after his death, more and more people are now researching about Jobs i.e. who he was, what he was like and what his journey was like. One common curiosity however is the fact that Jobs is adopted. His biological father, a Syrian national, met Jobs’ mother during their university days. At the time however, his father was not allowed to marry Jobs’ biological mother because her father did not allow it. His biological parents did not really want to give him up but by the time that they were already able to marry, they could not get their son anymore since the adoption papers have already been processed. Steve Jobs said once in an interview however that his adoptive parents are his true parents. Jobs never met his real father and mother.

Is your iPod touch not working properly? Here are a few of the most common iPod Touch problems and how to solve them on your own.


Frozen iPod Touch

If your iPod Touch is not responding to what certain buttons or commands on the screen do, you should do the following:

Recharge it and see if your iPod will flash a red battery image three times and the screen blacks out. If this happens, it means that your iPod touch is not getting enough power.

Restart your iPod touch maybe all it needs is well –a fresh start. If just restarting it does not work, this is an indicator that something else might be wrong. To restart the iPod Touch, you would have to turn it off first by pressing the Sleep button until the slider appears. You would have to slide your finger across it to turn the gadget off.  After a few seconds you can turn it back on and wait for the Apple logo to appear.

Update software. Maybe you just need to update your iPod Touch’s software so it responds. If you aren’t using the latest version of iTunes for example, your iPod will not work well.

Issues on Updating Your iPod Touch

If you cannot update or restore your iPod Touch, it may be time to verify the system requirements and make sure that everything is in order. If you really cannot update or restore your iPod Touch, it would be best to make sure that your computer has the latest iTune software.

You should also check your USB connections and make sure that you connect your gadget to a built in USB port instead of using an external USB hub.

You may also want to restart your computer to make sure that nothing is amiss.
