Don’t know what to do with your iPad 2? Now that the newest iPad is here, many users are no longer that interested in the 2nd generation iPad except of course those who bought the device because of the lowered price. With an iPad 2 Superguide one can get from Macworld, there are a lot of things you can do with the tablet PC aside of course from the things you do on the device now.

In the superguide, you can find a full rundown of the best ways to use your iPad either for work, for your communication or to enjoy multimedia.

The first thing you should do is activate your device and then fill it up with your favorite movies, music, series, apps and even podcasts. The superguide will also show you how to easily convert media files for your iPad consumption, help you master multitouch movements with your fingers tweak your device’s system settings, as well as help you get organized when it comes to your folders.

If you run into issues, the iPad 2 superguide could also help you troubleshoot what’s wrong with your Apple device. It will also help you protect your system from malware and viruses.

Although an iPad is not really like your laptop or notebook, it is a great tool that adapts easily to its users’ needs. Whether you are organizing your contacts, your schedule or your mail, you can do all these pretty easily.

Now why would the tech-savvy want a superguide? If you remember those reviews on the iPad 2 –well the reviewers didn’t exactly have it easy because although the device is uber popular, there are those things that one cannot easily understand. From a design viewpoint, the iPad 2 raised the bar on sleekness and sexiness –something that many really want.

Apple fans have to face the sad truth according to recent studies on the security features of Apple products. Sad and disappointing this may be, your Macs and other Apple gadgets do not offer the right kind of security that users need.

A recent report by Trend Micro has shown that Apple products are very vulnerable compared to its peers. This study indicated that Apple has 91 vulnerabilities. Oracle, the next in line in terms of vulnerabilities, has 78 followed by Google with 73 vulnerabilities and Microsoft by 43.

What exactly are these vulnerabilities? As defined by Trend Micro, vulnerabilities are those that are exploitable by hackers. These things have continued to be quite a nuisance for many IT administrators.

In addition to the 91 vulnerabilities, Apple also had to do a number of patches for Safari earlier this year making the whole security issue more disturbing. It was also in March of 2012 when Computerworld said it saw over 80 vulnerabilities in Apple’s system.

There is also a big threat of malware in Apple devices. Take for example the Mac Flashback Trojan and the Sabpab Trojan –two Trojans that attack Java. This resulted to Apple releasing an update on Java last April 13 to remove malware. Although the update will be a great help for computers or devices that are inflicted with malware, users should not rest easy.

Researchers from Kaspersky said that Mac users should install anti-malware software. The protection will be sufficient but in the past few months as the market share of Apple increased, more malware attacks were done. These Mac-specific exploits are alarming that Mac users should wake up from their cult-like love for Apple because this Mac malware issue is something that no one should ignore.

Taking important steps to secure your computer is of importance.

1998 –the first iMac came out and it was called the iMac G3. It came in rather bright colors rather than the bland devices first seen from the California-based company. It also had a round body making this Apple product more appealing than its competitors. (Photo via Apple)

By the year 1999, the Power Macintosh G3 came out and much like the iMac that came out a year before, the device came in bold colors. (Photo by Dietmar Naujok)

The Macintosh G3 released in 1999 was followed by the iBook that same year. This very modern looking laptop was also known as the Clamshell because of its shape. (Photo by Jared Benedict)

If you think that cube CPU systems are revolutionary, think again, Apple already introduced them in the year 2000 and they are called the Power Mac 4G Cube. (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)

And finally, the first iPod –we are now in more familiar grounds. This is the first ever music player in the industry that went digital.

It was in 2001 when Apple came out with the PowerBook G4. This was a laptop computer with a 12 inch screen.

In its efforts to be different from the rest of the industry, Apple came out with the rather alien-looking iMac G4. It was followed by the iBook G4 and the PowerMac G5in the year 2003, and later on the iMac G5 in the year 2004.

It was also in 2004 when Apple came out with the iPod mini. It was discontinued in the year 2005 though because it was not received well by the market. It was followed by the iPod nano, the iPod Shuffle and other products that Apple is now very much known for -the rest of course, as they say, is history. Through the years, Apple provided the world with numerous innovations in technology and today, the company still survives and even has a cult following.

Wondering how Apple products in the early 90s looked like? As one would expect, they do not look as cool as they do now.

Photo via Wikimedia Commons

1988 – the Macintosh llx was introduced by the company as a part of the update for the Macintosh II. It had an 800 KB floppy drive as well as a 1.44 SuperDrive.

Photo via Wikimedia Commons

The Macintosh SE/30 released in 1989 was considered as the fastest compact Macs at the time. The graphics were of course still in black and white but the SE/30 was definitely popular. The SE/30 even appeared in the TV series Seinfeld during its first seasons.

Photo via Wikimedia Commons

The Macintosh portable is the first ever portable computer that sent an email from the Space Shuttle mission STS-43. It was used by the space shuttle program in 1991.

Photo via All About Apple Museum

Dubbed by Frank Casanova as wicked fast, the Macintosh IIfx had a lot of names. These names included Stealth, F-16, Blackbird, F-19, IIxi, Zone 5, Weed-Whacker, and Four Square.

Photo via Wikimedia Commons

Released in the year 1991, the Macintosh Powerbook 140 was the first laptop ever made by the Cupertino company. It was followed by the 145 in August of 1992, and the 145B in July of 1993. It was intended as a replacement for Apple’s portable computer.

The Macintosh LC 575 is one of Apple’s upper low end products released in the mid-90s.

Photo via Wikimedia Commons

In 1995, Apple came out with the PowerBook 5300. However, due to its lackluster performance it was discontinued on August 3, 1986.

Photo via Wikimedia Commons

The Power Macintosh 7220 also known as the Power Macintosh 4400 in the United States and other markets, was released on November 1996 and later on discontinued in early 1998.

Photo via All About Apple Museum

The 20th Anniversary Macintosh looks like one of those science fiction devices in movies in the early 80s.

These products were later on followed by slicker more appealing products from the company signaling the start of a technological revolution.

Apple iPhone 4 owners who were affected by the product’s antenna problems can now get $15 from the Cupertino company as a settlement for their troubles.

According to the website iPhone4settlement.com, owners of the said device have between today and August 28 to claim their cash settlement. The claim form can be filed online or mailed if you prefer to mail it. You only have to fill up the claim form with your information and you’re done. Although one can send in their claim forms online, you would have to print it out for you to be able to sign it –attaching an electronic signature is not allowed.

The settlement, according to the website is only available to those who bought the iPhone 4 before February 17th this year. Those who bought the iPhone 4 at a later date would have to deal with the antenna problem (if it still exists) on their own.

The antenna problem of the iPhone 4 started in 2010 shortly after it was introduced officially to the general public. In fact, shortly after the iPhone 4’s launch, many new owners posted videos online showing that the Apple device was having reception problems and what was odd is that it only happens when it is held in a certain way. This gave birth to the rather controversial antennagate in 2010.

Soon after the videos came out online, the technology giant held a press conference showing that this does not only happen to Apple devices but to other brands as well. To pacify dissatisfied customers however, Apple offered free bumper cases to make things right. Records show though that 2 months later, the company no longer offered this deal and class action lawsuits started coming out of the woodwork. Around 20 cases made its way to court with the argument that the company concealed and misrepresented their product just to get higher sales.

Resolutionary –that is what the iPad 3 is all about. Equipped with a 5MP iSight camera, ultrafast 4G LTE, and an amazing retina display, iPad 3 lovers can’t ask for more.

With the iPad 3 you will be actually touching your photos and will see them clearer than before. If you want to play piano on an app –you can play the piano too! This is something really revolutionary. The main focus however is the retina display hence the come on resolutionary coined by the Cupertino company.

Whether you like watching videos, looking at photos or reading with your iPad 3 you will surely have a lot of fun doing it and without the glare that other tablet PCs have.

According to Apple, everything that one does with the new iPad, one will do it through the tablet PC’s large and beautiful display. A wise man once said that when the display is better the experience is much better too.

What exactly does the iPad 3’s retina display offer? The retina display on this new device has a 2048 x 1536 resolution with greater color saturation and at 3.1 million pixels too! And all these in a 9.7 inch space!

Although the display is way better than previous iPads, those who bought it recently are not very satisfied because of how much heat the batteries emit. Apart from this, some customers claim that the wireless access often disconnects and that the display itself has yellow lines. Apple is working on it though so those who haven’t bought the tablet PC just yet can wait for a better version of the iPad 3.

Even if there is a lot of bad press coming out about the said device however, a lot of people are still itching to get their hands on the iPad 3. The cult following of Apple has not yet waned, it seems.

A year later, Apple II was released and it finally was made out of glass and other materials. The first one was a wooden one, according to CBS News author Chenda Ngak.

In 1978, Disk II came out –pushing the boundaries of what is available in technology at the time.

By 1979, Apple II Plus came out followed by the Apple III. The latter has a resemblance to the computers we have today, although it is a much smaller version.

On that same year, the first Mac was introduced to the market. You probably will not recognize this Macintosh but it is the precursor to Apple’s famous Macintosh line.

It was in 1985 when the Macintosh XL came out. Its introductory price was $3, 995. The production of this computer was discontinued a year later.

The Macintosh Plus was introduced in 1986. It had a 1 MB memory but expandable to 4 MB. The CPU system was from Motorola. The Macintosh Plus was discontinued on October 15th, 1990.

Photo via Wikimedia Commons

The Macintosh SE came out a year after the Macintosh Plus. Its notable features include being the first compact Macintosh that Apple ever produced at the time. It had an internal drive bay, an Apple Desktop Bus and was known for its faster data throughput.

The new iPad is revolutionary much like its predecessor and it has gotten a lot of fans excited because of its screen’s clarity making browsing photos on the device pure delight. With videos, it’s pretty much the same –clear, crisp, sharp and all the good things a tablet PC should have.

The newly improved chip makes the difference and according to those who have seen the iPad 3 in action, this new chip certainly made the device perform better as a whole. This means that apps junkies will have a wondrous time with the iPad 3 since the response will be quick and smooth. Although older iPads worked the same way i.e. quick and smooth –the new iPad is by far the best there is from the Cupertino company.

It seems that those who are so afraid of what is going to happen to Apple after Steve Jobs now have peace of mind under the reign of Tim Cook. The new iPad is a sign of bold steps to come, analysts say and Apple has really dipped its toe in water this time by integrating 4G LTE once rumored as not included in the specs of the iPad 3. Well it seems that the post Job era has actually started with the launch of the iPad 3 and Apple is stronger than ever before.

Thinking of ordering an iPad 3? There are a number of ways to do so but you can always go to the Apple Store online and see if you can order from them directly. This would be on pre-order though since it will hit the stores next week.

For Apple fans, this is a very exciting week and if you are thinking of buying an iPad 3, you should get ready with at least $500 on your pocket and be ready to brave those long lines too.

iPod acting funny? A lot of people have gone berserk for a time because their iPods are not working properly and often they call customer support but do not get the answers they need. Just how does one fix an iPod when it is acting funny?

Erasing your iPod’s content means you will no longer have all of your files in there so you would need to save them elsewhere first.

You would have to format your iPod first and then after erasing it, you would have to restore it. To do this you should plug your iPod to your computer’s USB port then open iTunes. Experts say that you should make sure that you are using the latest version of Apple’s iTunes to ensure that the updates are well –updated. Once you are connected, you will get a prompt that you need to install the necessary software to get your device up and running again. Bottom line is, you should click restore to restore your iPod.

Will this solve your iPod problem? It probably will but there are iPod users who are annoyed with their iPods because even if they have done the erase move, their iPods do not work still. What should one do then? If you have formatted your iPod already or reformatted it for that matter, and it still is acting up, you should definitely call Apple asap.

Apple devices usually have a number of problems although these issues are usually subdued due to these products’ popularity. If you think your iPod is no longer working, it may be time to buy a new one. Such a device is quite expensive though that’s why it is more practical to fix the one that you have instead of just disposing of it. If you let Apple fix it however, you will still be paying expensive fees so if the restore fix does not work, you may want to try it again.

The life-ruiningly fun game is now available at the Apple store and those who are fond of Homer and his family can now get to play the game for free. Yes for free!

Gamers can now access Springfield and take a look at never-before-seen scenes in Springfield. Fans say that it is about time that there is a Simpsons game for Apple users and as I write this update, many are now accessing iTunes to get a hold of Tapped Out.

The game, released on Feb 21, 2012 is the first version of The Simpsons Tapped Out its size only amounting to 12.9 MB. The game developed by EA Games is rated 12+ due to infrequent or mild cartoon violence, alcohol, drug, or tobacco use, crude humor, and simulated gambling.

If you are interested in getting the game, you can download it through your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

What’s great about it is that it has combined The Sims and Farmerama in a cruder fashion since this is what makes the longest-running cartoon comedy series special anyway.

What’s great about The Simpsons Tapped Out is that it is interactive too –you can actually see how your friends are doing in their very own version of Springfield.

There are a number of things you can do with the game and fans will surely love playing it. Make sure it doesn’t isolate you more from your social life though because this game is definitely addictive.

What is great about it is that getting the freemium won’t force you to get a premium pack. According to one gamer, it is tons of fun and there are a lot of things to discover in the game. If you haven’t downloaded the free game just yet, it may be time to check it out now!
