Apple iPhone 4 owners who were affected by the product’s antenna problems can now get $15 from the Cupertino company as a settlement for their troubles.
According to the website iPhone4settlement.com, owners of the said device have between today and August 28 to claim their cash settlement. The claim form can be filed online or mailed if you prefer to mail it. You only have to fill up the claim form with your information and you’re done. Although one can send in their claim forms online, you would have to print it out for you to be able to sign it –attaching an electronic signature is not allowed.
The settlement, according to the website is only available to those who bought the iPhone 4 before February 17th this year. Those who bought the iPhone 4 at a later date would have to deal with the antenna problem (if it still exists) on their own.
The antenna problem of the iPhone 4 started in 2010 shortly after it was introduced officially to the general public. In fact, shortly after the iPhone 4’s launch, many new owners posted videos online showing that the Apple device was having reception problems and what was odd is that it only happens when it is held in a certain way. This gave birth to the rather controversial antennagate in 2010.
Soon after the videos came out online, the technology giant held a press conference showing that this does not only happen to Apple devices but to other brands as well. To pacify dissatisfied customers however, Apple offered free bumper cases to make things right. Records show though that 2 months later, the company no longer offered this deal and class action lawsuits started coming out of the woodwork. Around 20 cases made its way to court with the argument that the company concealed and misrepresented their product just to get higher sales.

Many are anticipating the arrival of the iPhone 5 and lots of Apple fans are now asking how much the iPhone 5 will be. To be very honest, no one knows yet how much the smartphone will be at least not until Apple announces something or any of the carriers in the US announce something about the device. There’s not even enough information on its exact release date what more how much it will be sold? Alright, let’s not dwell on that, let’s focus on what we’d get once the iPhone 5 is here.

Consumers have not yet lost hope for the iPhone series though but if Apple keeps on delaying the release of the iPhone 5 analysts say, consumers might not take it lightly and just switch to iPhone’s beefier competitors. According to the rumor mill, there are many frustrated calls being made to the Apple headquarters regarding the release date of the iPhone 5 but one cannot blame the technology giant because as long as there is a high demand for their newly launched iPhone, they will keep on delaying the arrival of the iPhone 5 even if it is ready for action. After all, Apple has nothing to gain if they release it soon.
