  • iPhone 5 Update

With the Mayans saying that the world will end on December 21, 2012, those who are anticipating the end of the world will probably not buy an iPhone 5. However, those who are more hopeful are looking forward to the smartphone and will probably keep that phone until the next release of the Cupertino company i.e. the release of the iPhone 6.

Many are anticipating the arrival of the iPhone 5 and lots of Apple fans are now asking how much the iPhone 5 will be. To be very honest, no one knows yet how much the smartphone will be at least not until Apple announces something or any of the carriers in the US announce something about the device. There’s not even enough information on its exact release date what more how much it will be sold? Alright, let’s not dwell on that, let’s focus on what we’d get once the iPhone 5 is here.

First off, rumor has it that the iPhone 5 will sport a curved glass design much like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Apple detractors say that this is just so unoriginal of Apple but we must take into consideration that one must integrate the good things about other products to make a better product. It has been circulated allover the blogosphere months ago that the California company bought equipment for glass cutting to make sure that it will be able to sustain its inventory when Apple fans hit the stores for the new iPhone.

Another wonderful news is circulating the web and this is the iPhone 5 being faster and better than the first 5. According to sources, the iPhone 5 will be using the processor used for the iPad 2. Apart from this, the new smartphone said to be released on October 2012 will also be sim-less.

  • iPhone 5 a worldphone?

There are a lot of rumors about the iPhone 5 –when it will be released, what specs it will have and all that but one of the most interesting things that caught our attention is that according to reports, the new iPhone will be a sim-less one i.e. it will be the very first worldphone. International Business Times said that the new smartphone from the Cupertino company will have two to three internal antennas. These antennas will have GSM and CDMA compatibility making the iPhone a worldphone. Fans are excited about the new iPhone but more excitement is building especially now that recent developments have been released albeit unofficially. Apple wants to reign supreme in the smartphone market and it seems it will never hand over the crown to the Androids. Apple is beefing up the iPhone 5, sources say.

Apart from being a worldphone which is a wonderful feature especially for those who travel a lot, the smartphone will also sport a range of other improvements. It will of course have the iOS 5.0 –a sign that Apple is not only aiming for hardware upgrades but software upgrades as well. The highly anticipated smartphone will come with an improved notification system, will be armed by a news stand and of course, iMessage.

Sources say that the iMessage addition is for the iPhone 5 to be able to compete with Blackberry Messenger. The said app will also allow iPod Touch and iPad users to talk to one another. This would be much like a free messenger service for Apple users. So aside from it being a wordlphone, users will be able to chat with friends and family for free without much fuss because it will be integrated into the phones SMS and MMS application. This is truly exciting especially now that the release of the new iPhone is near.

  • iPhone 5 Update

The iPhone 5 is expected to sport a better camera and most probably it will be an 8MP one, sources say. This is not really something one would consider as awesome because most of the Androids have 8MP rear cameras especially the high end ones. According to reports, the iPhone 5 will also have a front-facing camera. The said camera will be used for video chatting of course and will prove to be quite useful for those who always make video calls.

Another wonderful news for Apple fans is that the iPhone 5 will probably sport a 3D camera as well since Apple has been filing several patent applications that involves 3D capturing technology. Reports say that Apple has been doing this since March this year. This is an indication, according to these reports, that the device will be able to capture, process, and render images in 3D through the use of a dual camera hardware.

It is also interesting to note that the new iPhone to be released in early 2012 will have the capability of taking photos in Panorama much like the 360 Panorama in the App Store.

Aside from the iPhone 5’s camera, it will also feature a larger screen. This isn’t new if you compare the iPhones to the androids from Samsung but this is definitely a plus for the iPhone series.
Other rumored features include 4G and LTE support, face recognition security, an OLED screen, a sleeker body design rumored to have curved glass like that of the Nexus, extended battery life, scratch proof screen and a shatter proof one as well, flash support and a physical keyboard. According to those privy to the iPhone maker, the iPhone 5 will be a sim-less phone. That being said, the new iPhone will be a world phone because its sim will not be connected to just one country.

  • iPhone 5 release date dependent on iPhone 4S

The patience of Apple fans is waning, reports say but there is still quite a dedicated community of consumers that are filing in Apple stores just to get their hands on the iPhone 4S. Apple is happy about this of course but the sad news is that the popularity of the iPhone 4S may be the very reason why the release date of the highly anticipated iPhone 5 will be delayed.

Tech blogs report that the demand of the Siri-toting new iPhone is still at its peak and will definitely prolong the release of the iPhone 5. The stopgap solution i.e. the iPhone 4S even though quite popular around the world is still being bombarded by critics particularly its battery issues. Complaints about the new iPhone have reached its peak too –much like the cues in Apple stores. There is some good news regarding the battery issue though because Apple just released a fix on Thursday last week so that iPhone 4S users will no longer complain about their batteries not lasting through an entire day. The update can now be downloaded from iTunes or through the internet.

Consumers have not yet lost hope for the iPhone series though but if Apple keeps on delaying the release of the iPhone 5 analysts say, consumers might not take it lightly and just switch to iPhone’s beefier competitors. According to the rumor mill, there are many frustrated calls being made to the Apple headquarters regarding the release date of the iPhone 5 but one cannot blame the technology giant because as long as there is a high demand for their newly launched iPhone, they will keep on delaying the arrival of the iPhone 5 even if it is ready for action. After all, Apple has nothing to gain if they release it soon.

  • Apple fans jump ship

Apple fans are jumping ship because of the battery problems of the iPhone 4S and its striking similarity to the standard Apple iPhone 4. Although this similarity was expected, many fans are still very disappointed, reports say.

With the news of an iPad 2S functioning as a stopgap for the iPad 3, many are now thinking that this might be the end of the gadgets giant especially now that the competition are releasing beefier gadgets. However, everything is much better with an Apple, so they say so it is basically consumers who will be holding the cards. Will Apple remain no.1 in the heart of consumers? A lot of rumor mongering is going on but to be fair, no one is sure what will happen next. It will depend solely on how Apple will play the game. One thing is for sure though, the competition is playing ball and they can’t be stopped.

Former Apple fans are now thinking of buying an Android instead of getting another Apple iPhone though. It was widely circulated that buyers of the 4S jumped ship from competitors BlackBerry and the Androids but analysts say that there might be a turn around in the very near future since the new smartphones from Samsung are making waves.

With the newly released S2 Skyrocket following the Nexus, some are thinking that these phones might do better performance-wise as compared to any Apple iPhone. One thing is certain though, the batteries of these smartphones last longer than that of the 4S. Rumors say that Apple will be releasing the iPhone 5 soon but this will depend on the frenzy going on with the 4S because as long as many people are still salivating for the said  smartphone, Apple will have no reason to hasten production for the iPhone 5 –the gadget that they promised their users months ago.

  • iPhone 4S Battery Stinks

This may be a nightmare for many an iPhone 4S users but it’s true, the battery seems to have a problem. This apparent glitch does not affect everyone of course but it is prevalent enough to irk quite a few users.

The issue has been getting enough media attention these past few days that many iPhone 4S users are alarmed. The poor battery life issue of the newly released iPhone may be its Achilles’ heel, reports say.

At Apple’s support forums, a lot of iPhone 4S users started discussing battery problems a day after the release of the new Apple gadget. To date, there are now over 185 pages of comments regarding the issue making it rather problematic for the technology giant.

“I am disappointed, this will probably be my last iPhone.”, says one user who pre-ordered the new iPhone. Contrary to the official specs of the phone which should have enough juice for 8 hours, the iPhone 4S only lasts 4 hours or even less.

Experts believe however that the problem may not be the battery itself but with the new operating system from Apple since it has a lot of apps on, it basically consumes a lot of juice.

Does your battery stink? This is now a common question in threads allover the web. The question of course refers to the battery problem of the new iPhone.

Although not everyone is affected,  there are definitely plenty of threads where people are voicing their concerns regarding their newly-bought iPhone 4S.

iPhone 4S users are now looking for a quick fix to get their batteries to last longer. Meanwhile, Apple has not yet addressed the issue publicly. Could this be the end of the technology giant? Many feared that Steve Jobs’ passing is a big factor when it comes to the company’s general popularity, its sales and investor relations but now, the iPhone 4S just might be the signal for the end of Apple’s reign.

  • Straight From The Rumor Mill: White iPod Touch Coming And More

A month or so ago, the rumor mill said that there will be significant changes on the iPod Touch and that it will be white.

The multimedia gadget launched in 2007 usually gets an upgrade every September but the changes made to it in the past few years barely shocks consumers.

In fact, Digital Trends said last September that the device can be likened to George Harrison i.e. the quiet, non-attention seeking type. Digital Trends did not really use the word non-attention seeking though but you get the meaning. The iPod Touch usually takes a backseat while the iPhone and the iPad get all the media attention –the way John and Paul were given all the attention during their heyday.

The iPod Touch’s minor change is not that exciting though –it will just don a white frame at some point. We do not know however if this pushed through or whether it will in the future.

Now to the iPhone. To those who haven’t heard the news, there’s a new iPhone but it’s not the iPhone 5.

Alright, there are many who were disappointed and are still very disappointed that there is no iPhone 5 and that an iPhone 4S stood in as a replacement. Although a lot of people are dismayed by this development (or underdevelopment), people from different parts of the US still pre-ordered the iPhone 4S.  These orders have showed up in tracking bases of UPS though and those who pre-ordered are expected to get their iPhone 4S before the launch date (October 14, 2011)

Apple however will likely to hold delivery until the product launching which means bad news to those who are already oh-so-excited to see, touch, and maybe even smell their brand new iPhone 4S.

If you would like to track your order, you may ask your carrier about it.

  • WWDC 2011 is Right Around the Corner!

Get excited all you Apple fanboys and girls it’s WWDC time again!  The annual event in San Francisco is schedules to go down June 5 through June 9, 2011. Some of the most anticipated announcements for the year should be disclosed at the meeting and we will finally get answers like, “What’s the deal with iCloud?” “When will the iPhone 5 be released?” You know things like that. Steve Jobs is known for keeping release dates and new information very close to his vest but in the past, some pretty big announcements have been made at WWDC.

Let’s take a look at some of the past announcements made at WWDC:

2010:  2010 was all about the App, but the highlight was definitely the iPhone 4 release date and the integration of Facetime with the front facing camera found on the  iPhone.

2009: The 2009 WWDC was all about speed. Jobs revealed the iPhone 3Gs.  The “S” is for Speed. The big hullabaloo (Finally worked that into a post) about this phone was that everything was faster than the iPhone 3G.  Also, the MacBook Pro received an updated look and boasted that it was the “fastest notebook Apple’s ever made.” Well…until next year.

2008: This WWDC was all about the developers. Jobs and Apple were really pushing people to begin to develop and sell new apps for the Apple App store.  Also, Jobs wanted to show off  the capability of the accelerometer and it’s practical application in games for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

If history teaches us anything it’s that at this years WWDC a release date will be announced for the iPhone 5 but also, something will be said about the iCloud.

So, the two main points I am looking forward to at the 2011 WWDC are the iPhone 5 release date and the iCloud. This article about the iCloud from Gigaom gives some background on Apple acquiring the domain, iCloud.com and iCloud.org. It is rumored that iCloud will have the ability to stream and store music and movies. Very Cool, very cool indeed. Apple WWDC conferences never disappoint so it should make for an interesting week.

  • Just in Time for Summer: The iPhone 5 Rumor Mill

It is only the end of April but the iPhone 5 rumor mill is churning once again. Just one year after the iPhone 4 was released, the fine folks at thismynext.com have developed this mock-up to show what they believe the iPhone 5 will look like.

    From thisismynext-

For starters — as I reported back in January on Engadget — the design of the phone is set to radically change (“a completely redesigned handset”). Our sources say the new model (or at least one of the new designs in testing) looks “more like the iPod touch than the iPhone 4.” The phone will be thinner than the iPhone 4, and may have a “teardrop” shape which goes from thick to thin (something along the lines of the MacBook Air profile).

In this mock-up provided to thisismynext by a source, the home button would also pull double duty as a gesture area and the screen would go all the way to the edges, no bezel, which I think is genius. Essentially, you would just be holding a device that is all screen and still boasting the immaculate Retina Display.

In my opinion, I would like to see the style go back to the bump similar to the 3Gs. I preferred the 3Gs design to the square design of the iPhone 4. Style cues that are more similar to the iPod Touch rather than the iPad would be nice. I do, however, like the Gorilla Glass backing on the iPhone 4, I would prefer the bump design in the iPhone 5 or would that be the iPhone 4s?
