1998 –the first iMac came out and it was called the iMac G3. It came in rather bright colors rather than the bland devices first seen from the California-based company. It also had a round body making this Apple product more appealing than its competitors. (Photo via Apple)

If you think that cube CPU systems are revolutionary, think again, Apple already introduced them in the year 2000 and they are called the Power Mac 4G Cube. (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)

And finally, the first iPod –we are now in more familiar grounds. This is the first ever music player in the industry that went digital.

It was in 2001 when Apple came out with the PowerBook G4. This was a laptop computer with a 12 inch screen.

In its efforts to be different from the rest of the industry, Apple came out with the rather alien-looking iMac G4. It was followed by the iBook G4 and the PowerMac G5in the year 2003, and later on the iMac G5 in the year 2004.

It was also in 2004 when Apple came out with the iPod mini. It was discontinued in the year 2005 though because it was not received well by the market. It was followed by the iPod nano, the iPod Shuffle and other products that Apple is now very much known for -the rest of course, as they say, is history. Through the years, Apple provided the world with numerous innovations in technology and today, the company still survives and even has a cult following.

  • Apple iPhone 4 Settlement Website Now Live

Apple iPhone 4 owners who were affected by the product’s antenna problems can now get $15 from the Cupertino company as a settlement for their troubles.

According to the website iPhone4settlement.com, owners of the said device have between today and August 28 to claim their cash settlement. The claim form can be filed online or mailed if you prefer to mail it. You only have to fill up the claim form with your information and you’re done. Although one can send in their claim forms online, you would have to print it out for you to be able to sign it –attaching an electronic signature is not allowed.

The settlement, according to the website is only available to those who bought the iPhone 4 before February 17th this year. Those who bought the iPhone 4 at a later date would have to deal with the antenna problem (if it still exists) on their own.

The antenna problem of the iPhone 4 started in 2010 shortly after it was introduced officially to the general public. In fact, shortly after the iPhone 4’s launch, many new owners posted videos online showing that the Apple device was having reception problems and what was odd is that it only happens when it is held in a certain way. This gave birth to the rather controversial antennagate in 2010.

Soon after the videos came out online, the technology giant held a press conference showing that this does not only happen to Apple devices but to other brands as well. To pacify dissatisfied customers however, Apple offered free bumper cases to make things right. Records show though that 2 months later, the company no longer offered this deal and class action lawsuits started coming out of the woodwork. Around 20 cases made its way to court with the argument that the company concealed and misrepresented their product just to get higher sales.

  • iPad 3 to come out on March

Excited about the iPad 3? Rumors have been going around since last year that the next generation iPad will arrive early quarter this year. Since it is already February, a number of Apple fans are now pacing nervously –awaiting of course for the arrival of the iPad 3.

Tech blogs have been buzzing that the arrival of the device is near and it will be launched on March. Through our research, there is still no indication on when the iPad 3 will arrive but there is sufficient evidence that it will arrive on the first week of next month.

Sources say that the icons of the iPad 3 are rendered rather crisply and there won’t be a Home button visible. Whichever the case, iPad fans are excited to see the device even if many of Apple’s detractors always say that Apple is not necessarily the leader in such technology but just a company that manufactures overrated products.

While some choose to buy Apple products, others stick to Apple’s strongest competitor –Samsung but what does it take for an Apple aficionado to jump ship?

The legal battle over copyright infringement involving the two companies has been a hot topic in the past few months. Apple is shown in a bad light in this legal battle but this probably wouldn’t stop Apple fans from lining up the streets near Apple stores in March when the iPad 3 will be officially released by the Californian company, sources say.

Although Samsung is relatively more advanced than Apple based on the opinion of many technology experts, Apple offers something that many of its competitors cannot –a very aesthetically pleasing user interface and designs that spell modern, sleek, and simple. There is beauty in simplicity they say and this is what Apple is probably all about. If one wants minimal –Apple is definitely the place to go to.

  • Apple loses court case in Dusseldorf

In its quest for world domination, Apple has repeatedly sent its lawyers to ban its competitors from markets worldwide due to infringement.

Recent reports show that the Cupertino company also tried this in the German market but was denied for its request to ban the Galaxy Tab 10.1N.

The Regional Court in Dusseldorf denied Apple’s request to ban the Samsung tablet yesterday with the court stating that the Samsung product is sufficiently different from that of the iPads. This was a major blow to Apple’s ego because just over a week ago, it was declared by the Munich court that Samsung did not infringe Apple’s touch interface technology. It is interesting to note that Samsung had much difficulty with the market because of Apple’s lawsuits and appeal to the courts not only in Europe but in other parts of the world.

Although Apple is on the attacking end in this story, just last year, the company was sued by a company based in China for using the trademark iPad. There is no news yet about how Apple will go about in releasing the iPad 3 in China.

Apple is not about to let a market as big as China slip away just like that, one analyst says, the best that Apple could do is give the third generation iPad a new name, he continues.

Whatever happens though, one can be sure that Apple items will always be hot stuff. In fact, with rumors coming from all corners that the iPad 3 will be launched by Apple on March, Apple fanatics now have their moolah ready to buy the item.

Apple’s cult following is phenomenal and it is one of the very few brands that could make people  throw eggs at Apple stores just because the store did not open on time during the release of one of their devices (remember Beijing?).

  • iPad 3 Update

The new iPad will be powered by A6 processors, sources say and it will come from Samsung. Rumor has been going around months ago that the third generation iPad will be sporting an A5 CPU and will be quite equipped to go head to head with the new tablet PCs released by other companies. Other predictions came out though that the iPad 3 will come in two versions but no one from Apple has confirmed this.

The good news is it will come in March according to reliable sources and this buzz is already creating a frenzy on what the iPad 3’s specs will be. It might hit the shops earlier though because Apple might be launching the product on Steve Jobs’s birthday which is on February 24th. Many are praying that this will come true in a way because lots of people would like to get their hands on the new iPad. Whichever the case, it will arrive soon and no sooner than March and this is something we can all rely on.

One hundred percent accuracy is of course not possible when it comes to discussions like these so all we could provide is information from different sources and more often than not, contradictory. Do not fret though because one of these rumors are bound to come true anyway, it is all just a matter of time.

Pulse taking is a good way to get relevant information and one of the more sure things one can provide fans is that the A6 processor news might be true. However, if this does not come true, one thing is for sure, the iPad 3 will be quite powerful. No one knows how much the iPad 3 will cost but one only has to base it on how much the iPad 2 costs when it was launched.
